Oral Surgery FAQs

We give you the answers you want.
  • Why do I need to have my wisdom teeth removed?

When your wisdom teeth erupt, they typically don’t have enough room to come through. If this occurs, they can come in sideways or only partially appear (become impacted), causing pain and swelling in your gums. If left untreated, an infection can occur, so it is better to remove your wisdom teeth before any previously mentioned problems arise.

  • What kinds of foods can I eat after having oral surgery?

On the day of the surgery, cold and soft food is recommended. For example, applesauce, cottage cheese, or yogurt. Following the day of your procedure, it’s best to avoid crunchy foods that break into little pieces because they could get trapped in the extraction sites.

If you had dental implants placed, please avoid chewing hard foods with them for the next six weeks, or the healing of the implant will be compromised.

  • How much can oral surgery cost?

Because oral surgery involves different procedures, the cost of your treatment will depend on the performed procedure. If you don’t have dental insurance, don’t worry – we have discount plans for your entire family. Click here to learn more.
