A lot has changed in the dental field over the past few decades. Many treatments and procedures that were once complicated and difficult have now become much easier for the patients and for the dentist. As part of T. Lance Collier, DMD, Family Practice of General Dentistry’s dedication to ensuring all our patients have the best experience, we incorporate as much advanced technology as possible. Here are just a few of the advanced technologies that we use:
- CEREC CAD/CAM Technology – When a patient gets a dental appliance like a crown, it can often take time for the creation of the custom crown at a lab. This causes patients to use a temporary and then come back for a second visit for the permanent crown, but with CEREC technology, we have the ability to create custom porcelain crowns, inlays, and onlays at our office, meaning you can get same day permanent crowns!
- Soft-Tissue Laser – Procedures involving the soft tissue of the mouth were once intensive for the patient. Treatments for gums would involve incisions and stitches, but with the usage of lasers, these procedures are revolutionized. The intense light of the laser works to seal nerve endings, which prevents pain, and also prevents bleeding.
- Digital X-Rays – X-rays are crucial in helping your dentist see what is happening inside of a tooth and what is below the gum line. Digital X-rays are quicker, easier and also expose the patient to 90% less radiation than traditional x-rays.
